Workshops exploring the impact of change on urban areas
TThe urban infrastructure evolves in answer to the ongoing change. The technological disruptions, social issues and environmental crises will all play a role in shaping the future of our cities. In two custom workshops, the participants used design futures methodologies to discover ways in which urban infrastructure might need to adapt to mitigate risks and benefit from the coming opportunities.
In the first workshop, participants explored how who owns data might impact the lives of citizens in smart cities. Each group created their own manifesto that reflected the insights from the discussions. In the second session, we travelled to 2050 to see how the city of Poznan might change in answer to ongoing challenges. The participants designed street signs to communicate the transformation and fluid nature of urban environment.
